Generally woman are aware of their period dates and if there is a delay in the periods they can surely tell that there's something wrong with their health. If you are sexually active and miss your period then there are high chances that you might be pregnant. Although subconsciously you know that you are pregnant but when you actually perform a pregnancy test, it turns out to be negative and that might make you nervous. This could also be a possibility that you might have miscalculated your own cycle even though you believe that you have a perfect and regular 28 day cycle, the cycle might not be regular due to various health issues. Women who are older than 35 years can have a cycle as frequent as 28 days in their first month while in the second month there might be an interval of 30 to 40 days. A woman is pregnant or not is judged by the level of hCG hormones and depending upon our body and health conditions, level of hCG hormones between 10 to 50 mIU indicates that a woman is pregnant. Theoretically a woman shall have the presence of hCG hormone in their urine after 11 days of conception but for some it might take longer. You might need to wait a bit longer for test to be positive. If even after two weeks you are late on your period and still the test is negative then you might be suffering with any other kind of health problems. A woman can miss her period due to several reasons and being pregnant is not the only factor. As recent infection like pneumonia, bronchitis etc. can even delay your menstrual cycle. You might have also been suffering with any other type of disease in the past and your body would might have been focusing too much on that particular disease that it has temporarily lost the capability to maintain uniform cycle. Hence it might take a month or longer for your body to regain that control.
No Pregnancy Symptoms But Still No Periods?
If you have been exercising or cycling hardly lately then also you might experience a delay in your menses. Not only exercising if you have recently took up any intense activity at sports or at your job than you will surely experience a delay in your periods. Our body requires time to adjust to new situation or recover from an illness and that time could range from anything between a month to even six-months sometimes.
If you have made no changes to your lifestyle recently and still you have not received your periods even after two weeks then surely you are suffering with some kind of gynecological problems. If your last period was heavier than normal then you will need to seek immediate medical help to get your uterus checked. They could be an infection present in your uterus which might require surgery. Experiencing White Discharge?
If you are experiencing white discharge than it could be due to two reasons. White discharge can even mean that you are about to have your periods or can even signal an early pregnancy. If the signal is for early pregnancy than it means that your cervix is closing its self to form a protective layer around your baby. So if you have a white discharge and your periods are late then you shall not dismiss the idea of being pregnant. As mentioned above your body might take more time for the hCG levels to increase. You might be pregnant but due to unknown reasons your body is not generating enough level of hCG hormones for the stick to detect them.
The pregnancy test kits are believed to be 97 to 99% accurate and pretty reliable in detecting early pregnancy and hence you might need to wait for a couple of more days for your body to be able to produce enough hCG hormone. Sometimes you might even need to wait for more than two weeks for your hCG hormones to reach a measurable level. However it would be better if you go and see your Dr. who can perform some blood test and can clear the confusion within couple of hours. The Dr. might even perform a vagina ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. Not only due to your body producing low level of hCG hormones but the kit can even malfunction.
If you have already considered all the factors and you see no improvements that could indicate that you might have contracted any kind of sexually transmitted disease. You might experience a thick white discharge with unpleasant smells because your body is trying to fight with any kind of infection. Along with white discharge if you are also experiencing burning or itching sensation inside your vagina then you should immediately see your Doctor. However, rest assured everything will be fine soon.
